"Homeland Security Firms and Foundations.

Also experiencing noticeable growth or proliferation since September 11, which should continue over the next several years are homeland security groups and companies. Two examples of non-profit organizations recently formed on homeland security issues are the Homeland Security Foundation and the ANSER Institute for Homeland Security.

The Homeland Security Foundation is designed to help promote private and public partnerships to assist local and state efforts to prepare for a terrorist attack, establish a scholarship fund to grant degrees and training to public health officials and first responders, assist in information exchange over biochemical warfare and environment, offer educational seminars to school teacher and administrators on how to respond to terrorist threat and attack, and promote artistic works "that reflect the impact of domestic and international terrorism on American society" and promote "values of freedom, free enterprise, respect for human life, respect for gender, and respect for individual faith and religion" The Foundation also will promote community works to help homebound, sick, homeless and others who are unprotected and help the community " to be safe from the presence of crime and terror"

Citizens want to help secure our homeland from terrorists. Maybe an easy number (ex. 911) can be used to report suspicious behavior to a central law enforcement agency ASAP. E-mail addresses and state telephone numbers won't work for everyone. The main purpose should be not to let anything fall through the cracks if at all possible. The rescue and recovery workers did such a wonderful job at the WTC. We need that sense of unity they displayed to continue throughout the U.S. to protect our families in our homeland.

In February 1968 I installed the first 911 emergency response system in
America.
Today there are thousands of these systems throughout America. Most of
them are County wide and paid for with county and city taxes.....
Surely these existing systems will be a major contribution to any
Homeland Security planning...

The next thing they will ask you, if you contact them, is to send them some thousands dollars by Western Union in order for them to put the millions on your account. If you do so, you will not only lose your money but also you will never be able to contact them again (they will change e-mail's addresses and phone's numbers right away). Please, contact the Attorney General Office for further information of how to file a complain in regard to this type of letter. You will not believe it but many people around the world are believing the lies of these scam letters and losing their money.

Dear HSF ,

I am with the Civil Air Patrol's Black Sheep Squadron, (Air Force Auxiliary), Colorado Wing. We are directly involved in Home Land Security. Although, our positions are still being defined by Congress and the Air Force, our aircraft were the only ones permitted (other than Military) to fly in and around New York City during the 9-11 crisis, and patrol the Utah Olympics. Currently some squadrons are assisting Law Enforcement by patrolling our Borders and are in fact credited in apprehending many drug smugglers. Our Squadron also provides the Rocky Mountain Region with Air Mountain Search and Rescue and Vital Human Tissue/Personnel transportation. Additionally, we provide ROTC cadets their first introduction to flight, by giving them free orientation aircraft rides.

You may be aware that the Civil Air Patrol is an all volunteer organization and we rely heavily on grants and donations from the Air Force. This allows us to provide these needed services to communities across the U.S. However, many of our needs are supplied by the members of our squadron.

Our squadron is in need of some vital equipment, in order to continue with our service.

I am seeking the following information:

Does your organization, or do you know of, any organizations that will help us with grants and/or donations in the form of cash or equipment? (I have never looked for grant money before and could use a little guidance in the matter.)

Some needed supplies are:

I find it sad that our nation has come to such a circumstance, like
that I have read on your site. I do not support the Homeland security
you favor. I feel that in a nation like ours where our government is
far from worthy of trust we should never vanquish any of our freedoms.
If we begin to allow this administration, or any to come, to
outrageously misinterpret our constitution in the sake of security then
we are forfeiting everything this nation is based upon. We were
attacked for our belief in freedom and in our grief we are being blind
sighted and manipulated into believing that giving up what makes
America so wonderful is in the best interest of our nation. Don't you
see that the government in which you so arrogantly support is trying
their might to attain freedoms that have not been appointed to them. If
we allow this than the freedoms in which we still hold will soon
diminish. What happens in 50 years if we need to face such a tragedy
again? What do we give up then? This Homeland security idea is all a
front to take our government and change it's purpose and position under
the appealing idea of safety. I see tomorrow and with this
administration's influence it seems grave.

I hope that our nation and our President can come to there senses and
realize that the path we're trekking is not paved in ivy and periwinkle.

It was announced yesterday on the the news that there was a large amount of vaccine for smallpox. It came to my mind that, if I was a part of a terrorist group, I would do what I could to attack and destroy any large supply of vaccine. I would do this as close as possible to the same time an attack was being made in order to inflict the most terror that I could. In view of the information that has come forth regarding Saddam Hussein capabilities -- I heard that he could launch an attack within 45 minutes I am even more concerned that adequate steps are being taken to safeguard our precious vaccine supplies! We are an audio visual/film studio in Connecticut and have worked with the Dept of Defense and other military and government agencies. Over the past twelve months we have developed a system for recording military and civilian exercises which enhances the ability for the organizers and evaluators to asses and analyze the tactics and abilities of the participants.

Our tapes can be edited in a variety of ways from the original multi-camera coverage to show individual actions, the outcome of specific tactics and where actions were successful or failed. Not only does this create a record which cannot be questioned for analysis, it also forms the basis for training material which allows the participating agencies to extend the benefits of the exercise to non participants at a later date - stretching the budget and increasing the value of the exercise.

By having us cover exercises on an ongoing basis a record of improvement can be established.

We have produce such tapes for three major exercises in the Northeast, involving military and civilian agencies, local and State Police. All have indicated that the tapes are a major benefit.

We are seeking to make our service available to all agencies planning Homeland Security Exercises, from limited municipal exercises to state and regional events.

Clearly Dave didn't look at the site.

My opinion is this. Constitutional rights should not be over looked by the DOJ.

Homeland Security isn't the goal of the new dept. it's to have control of the money of the individual depts. So it can be redirected to Bush supporters. Through new contracts with the government.

I just am too distrusting of the current government to give them much power.

If i was building a dept. of homeland security it would include the FBI, DOJ, CIA, INS, Coast Guard, NSA, and a joint council of the state police of all states. Remember he had TomRidge working on this before there was a need. He wants agencies that have no ability to do anything for Homeland Security. (my opinion)

You make a valid point about the construct of the dept.
The way I read it is other than logistics the dept is
powerless. Additionally, the makeup of the agencies did
seem on its face to render it impotent. I believe that the
whole terrorist scare tactic has some monetary benefit to
someone down the road. As an individual who has been in
the water treatment industry for 20 yrs the average
American has more to fear in the chlorinated water he
drinks (ever heard of THM's) than from Apu broadcasting
Anthrax out the window of his Yugo!

Dear Sir:

I'm sending this as a concerned investor (pension) and North American citizen.

No doubt this scenario has been investigated; nevertheless, I want to be sure someone is considering this possibility.

Everyone's concern is repetition of September 11 or something similar. Let's consider a more insidious possibility. Is it conceivable that the current financial woes of our 'corrupt' countries are related to terrorism. These extremists pulled off the 9-11 disaster. They should not be underestimated.

It is a real coup for these radicals to be able to capitalize on our current financial problems and use this as propaganda to further their cause. It is difficult not to have a bit of an uncomfortable guilty feeling that maybe they have a credible argument.

If it can be illustrated to the investing public that there is or could be a connection between terrorism and the negative situation with the stock market and that something is being done about it, this could lead to more confidence in our financial situation .

Could this be a good connection to make.

(1) All Visas, Passports and a National ID cards can have a complete profile including a picture and finger print of the recipient.

(2) All motor vehicles should have an EZ PASS system similar to what is being use in the NEW YORK,NEW JERSEY AND CONNECTICUT AREA. The owner or renter of the vehicle would have a complete profile attached to the vehicle VIN #

(3) Scanners can be placed every where.

(4)I know it's costly but in some places it can be profitable.

(5) I can go on and on but it would take to much time

My colleagues and I have developed a technology that can forever change how we interdict explosives and chemical agents. Most of our research is being conducted in Tucson, AZ utilizing University of AZ equipment. Our project is headed up by a U of A professor of chemistry, optics, and forensics. The science we are harnessing is the 80 year old Raman Spectroscopy. Until now nobody has been able to figure out how to consistently and accurately use it to get results. We have developed and patented a way to scan objects and immediately determine specific molecules that lay on its surface. I am a trucker and a Vietnam Vet and I feel the next large scale attack could come by truck. We need to be looking at trucking schools across the country. Last week, I was stopped by D.O.T. and they checked my weight but never checked my load? Truckers go into every port in the country and all major city. Truckers can help, they are out there 24/7. I just want to know if someone is looking at this.
